ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide all aspects of technical analysis and management of external and internal corrosion control programs, to include (but not limited to) data collection, investigations, analyses, technical support, procedure/policy/manual development, problem resolution, remedial actions, field testing, inspections, training programs, contractor bidding and management, development of new technologies, use of new materials and instrumentation, etc. to mitigate adverse effects on natural gas pipelines and storage facilities and in full compliance with rules and regulations.
- Examine and document all hot tap coupons.
- Revise and update the transmission field inspection report processes.
- Administer and monitor corrosion contracted services.
- Participate as required with regulatory audits and training sessions for employees.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- In-depth knowledge of practice, procedures, processes, applicable CFR codes, PUC, OSHA, etc.
- Excellent knowledge pf PNG pipeline systems and storage fields.
- Advanced knowledge of essential computer skills and applicable database systems.
- Strong planning, writing, and data management skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal relationships.
- Can operate independently, manage multiple projects and complexities and highly responsive to PNG needs.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related area required; demonstrated related experience may be substituted for preferred education.
- Minimum of 5 years analytical and corrosion experience.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, summarize, and related complex data and information.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels internal and external to an organization.
- Other Experience/Education requirements for specialty (Corrosion) area:
- AUCSC Basic, Intermediate, Advanced
- NACE Cathodic Protection Technician (minimum).
- NACE Internal Corrosion Technologist (minimum).
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive PNG Company Vehicles.
NOTE: This position may be specifically defined by specialty (e.g., GIS, Process, Pipeline Integrity, Transmission, and Storage Design, etc.); as such, specific experience in the specialty will be a requirement if so designated. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
- Travel approximately 50% to work sites of PNG, external customers and travel beyond Pittsburgh representing PNG.
- Perform heavy work- exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- 50-50 mix of office and field work. May be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations; mechanical, electrical, chemical, gas exposure hazards possible; fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and/or poor ventilation atmospheric conditions may exist.
- Position requires the ability to use a computer and related office/systems management equipment as well as all corrosion related equipment and tools.
- Position requires the ability to drive PNG Company Vehicles, use computer-related and office equipment.
